CLASSES STARTING ON 2ND SEPTEMBER 2019
The Diploma Program in Music Performance at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music provides you with all the tools necessary for building a career in music as a performer, composer, songwriter, arranger, producer or teacher. Music Performance encompasses Core courses and Custom electives. The student can also choose some electives from the roster of Carnatic courses that are offered.
The Core Courses include Ear-training, Contemporary Harmony, Reading Rhythms, Music Notation, Instrument Specific Labs, Technique Lab, Reading Lab, Performance Ensemble and Private lessons and Introduction to Carnatic Music and Konnakol (Carnatic Rhythms).
The Custom Electives designed by respective faculty gives student an opportunity to understanddifferent styles and techniques and apply these by listening, analyzing, and playing.
The Carnatic Electives are designed to provide in-depth information on the history of Carnatic Music, the melodic and rhythmic methods in Carnatic music.

Douglas Las Casas - Drums ( Brazil)
Douglas “ShakerHand” Las Casas, is one of the most prominent Brazilian drummers. His studies of the Moeller technique, Traditional Grip, Jazz, and Brazilian music led this great Brazilian drummer to international recognition, where he received the nickname “ShakerHand”(rattle hand)
Samba, Jazz, Polka Paraguaya, Latin, Maracatu, and Bailão are few of the styles he specializes in.
David Loubeh - Piano (Brazil)
David Loubeh had classical piano classes with José Eduardo Martins, and Gilberto Tinetti, both renowned experts in Brazil’s classical environment.
David is working on a Project to launch an Ear Training program on the web and through live workshops, which is revolutionary and will effectively change the life of a lot of musicians around the world.
PATRICIA LAURA RAMON ( ARGENTINA)
A singer-songwriter from Argentina.
Studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston MA and obtained a second award to complete her Master´s degree in Contemporary Studio Performance in Valencia, Spain.
She is currently living in India,
learning the art of Hindustani Classical Music under the guidance of Manjusha
UMAYALPURM MALI -CARNATIC RHYTHMS (INDIA)
Popular mridangam player who learned from Kumbakonam Rajappa Iyer and Umayalpuram Sivaraman.
He is a Copeland Fellow, Fulbright Fellow and was a faculty at Harvard University.
Umayalpuram Mali has toured widely and has visited several countries on concert tours in USA, Canada, Australia, France, Mauritius, Kenya, and Singapore.
